So this is the last post for this set – and I am excited to share many finds for a sixpence. Who knew you could get this creative with a coin? The silver sixpence is traditionally worn in the left shoe, and is placed there for luck, wealth, security, and wedded bliss. Enjoy! Friday’s Fabulous Finds ~ Something Blue…

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

This weeks highlight is on something Blue!!! My favorite of them all, by far. Blue after all encompasses some of my favorite things… My favorite shoes, flowers, sapphires, gowns and accents! It’s all in the details, right?

Blue has been connected to weddings for centuries actually. In many cultures blue was a part of every wedding, and it has been known as a symbol of purity. It has been a popular color for wedding gowns, in many cultures and throughout history. White gowns are still a newer concept, in medieval times brides wore their best dress, and it wasn’t white!

The sapphire was the original engagement stone, long before diamonds took center stage. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. And there is no denying, it is just a gorgeous color that comes in so many different shades from deep navy’s, stunning sapphires, and bright Tiffany blues!

Enjoy the entire board HERE, I hope you find something fun for your something blue! Have a Fabulous Friday!
